How To Create A Capsule Wardrobe For Your Child

Posted on

Whether you have a child that is in preschool or one that is about to enter into junior high, getting them ready in the morning can be a bit rough. One of the most frustrating things about getting kids ready for school is getting them ready. If you feel like you and your child are always arguing over what they can and can't wear, then this article is just for you. To help streamline your morning and their wardrobe options, why not create a capsule wardrobe for them?

What's a Capsule Wardrobe?

First things first, you may be wondering what a capsule wardrobe is. A capsule wardrobe is when you only have 9 - 12 items in your entire closet. The goal of having so few clothes is to make getting ready easier and to help make every part of your wardrobe be filled with something that you like. Although you don't have to limit your child's capsule wardrobe to only 12 items, having things a little bit more streamlined will definitely help you. To help create a capsule wardrobe for your child, this article will list a few different things that you should invest in for them.

Graphic Tees

Consider adding a few graphic tees into your child's capsule wardrobe. Graphic tees can be fun, playful, and can go with just about anything, especially if they are white. White graphic tees, in particular, can go with virtually every type of bottom. When you are choosing a graphic tee for your child, make sure that it has something that they are passionate about on the front. For instance, if they are passionate about the environment, then consider getting them a graphic tee with an eco-friendly saying on the front of it.

Leggings

Leggings are great for both little boys and girls of all ages because they give them the flexibility to run around and move without restriction. When you are choosing leggings for your child, only pick one pattern and then one black pair. Because there are so many leggings options available these days, it can make their wardrobe a bit overwhelming. For girls, consider picking a leopard print pair of leggings and then one black pair. If you have a little boy, then choose something like camo print and black.

Sweaters

Whether your child likes pullover sweaters or cardigans, give them one or two sweater options that they can layer over their graphic tees. Just remember to limit the quantity so that they aren't too overwhelmed in the morning.
