Because we prioritize a rapid 1-day handling time to get your pet supplies delivered within our 3–7 business day window, the timeframe for modifying or canceling an order is very narrow. This policy provides comprehensive details on how to manage your order after it has been placed.
1. The Window of Opportunity
The most critical factor in canceling or changing an order at Lordofdot is timing. Our fulfillment system is designed to trigger almost immediately after the 5:00 PM EST cut-off time each business day (Monday – Friday).

The "Processing" Threshold: Once an order status moves to "Processing" or "Shipped," our warehouse team has already picked, packed, and staged the item for the carrier (USPS, UPS, or FedEx). At this stage, physical intervention to stop the shipment is often impossible.

Weekend Orders: Orders placed on Saturday or Sunday are generally not processed until Monday morning. This provides a slightly larger window for requests, provided the request is received before the Monday morning shift begins at 8:00 AM EST.
2. How to Request a Cancellation
If you have decided not to proceed with your purchase of pet accessories, carriers, or toys, please follow these steps to request a formal cancellation:

Confirmation: A cancellation is not considered final until you receive a confirmation email from a Lordofdot representative.
If we are able to cancel the order before it enters the shipping phase, we will issue a full refund to your original payment method. Per our standard refund policy, this will typically reflect in your account within 7 business days.
3. Changing Order Details
We understand that errors happen—perhaps an old shipping address was auto-filled, or the wrong carrier size was selected.
Changing Shipping Addresses:
Accuracy is vital for successful delivery. We can only modify shipping addresses if the order has not yet been handed over to the carrier. If the package is already with USPS, UPS, or FedEx, we cannot redirect it. In such cases, the customer is responsible for contacting the carrier directly to see if a redirect is possible, though this often incurs additional fees from the carrier.
Changing Product Variants:
If you wish to swap a product (e.g., changing a "Small" pet bowl to a "Large" one), we recommend canceling the original order and placing a new one. This ensures that the correct inventory is reserved for you and prevents discrepancies in your billing. If the price of the new item is different, a refund or additional charge will be necessary.
4. Orders Already in Transit
If your request to cancel or change an order arrives after the item has been shipped, the "Cancel/Change" window has closed. However, you still have options under our Return & Refund Policy:

Refused packages can often become lost in carrier systems or take weeks to return to our facility, significantly delaying your refund. It is always safer to accept the delivery and follow our formal return instructions.
5. Product-Specific Considerations
Some items in our catalog have specific logistical requirements that affect cancellations:

Pet Beds & Large Carriers: These bulky items are often staged for pickup by UPS or FedEx shortly after the 1-day handling period. Because of their size, once they are loaded onto a trailer, they cannot be retrieved.

Accessories & Small Toys: These smaller items move through our system rapidly via USPS. Their speed of processing means the window for changes is exceptionally short.
